Was i wrong to feel that way?

i have a "friend" whom i text and call a lot (pretty much everyday) and one day we were texting and he didnt respond so i asked him if i should leave him alone to let him do whatever he was doing or not, and then he replied "i don't really care if u text me or not @ this moment" and it kind of hurt me. i just replied , "OK ill leave u alone :3" then he said back "alright" and i said bye and he replied back to me the same. now... was i wrong to feel a little hurt by his reply? i mean he was in a hurry at the moment i know that but still... i think maybe im being a little too sensitive but it did take me aback for a second because hes usually trying to do the opposite of hurt me.
