Straight up, He obviously likes you, or finds you attractive and cool at least. Hes been in this relationship for so long that hes probably lost attraction or got bored of her, or maybe hes just lost feelings because it was all lust and no love. Whatever the case is he likes you and he would date you if he could find a way out of the relationship and knew you would date him, trust me on it i'm a guy. xD About your friend she probably is jealous or possibly just doesn't like the guy so tries to make him sound bad. Whatever the case if your friend says kill yourself, do you? No you live. So don't let how she feels bother your own choices, always go with YOUR instinct not others. :)
